This week started with a good friends wedding on Saturday which was lovely (though I was sober due to children pick ups later that evening – boo!), this was followed by my nan’s 86th birthday on Monday and testing whether bananas help babies sleep through the night…not 100% convinced on the baby theory yet, but it’s certainly worked for my Nan. All hail the banana!
Unfortunately now we’re back to reality, with no sunlounger in sight, there’s been no time for reading. I have been browsing the internet to find out whether this banana story is fact or fiction though!
I’ve been out and about this week so I’ve had Magic on as always. One song that’s really stuck in my head this week is Jealous by Labrinth. I know it’s an old one but it’s so beautiful.
Again, I’m still catching up on TV from when we were away. There seems to be so much back on the box again and my planners only got 5% memory left so I’m frantically trying to watch and delete! Stuart’s finally set up his ‘man cave’ so I’m looking forward to more evenings with the TV all to myself. Who said romance was dead?!
Back to the autumn wardrobe now, so jeans and t-shirts with a cardi/jumper close by has been the order of the day for me. Sofia had a new nursery wardrobe as she suddenly seems to have grown a foot taller and Arlo’s summer wardrobe is now redundant due to the weather and his expanding waistline, so I popped into Matalan to get some cheap and cheerful bits for him. So he’s spent the week in comfy outfits, love how boys can get away with tracksuit bottoms and a nice top. Trendy and cosy!
As autumn is in full swing, I spent a morning making some tasty and healthy soups for my return to work.
I’ve also been making lots of bribes and promises in return for good behaviour from Sofia who seems to have turned into a diva overnight and is seriously ‘testing our patience’ this week.
Most impressive is the fact I’ve made headway with the masses of washing and ironing and my once small mountain sized ironing pile is empty….until the next load. Small victories!
I’m doing a carboot sale on Sunday with mum, so I’m hoping to clear some space out and make some cash. Whatever doesn’t sell will be taken to charity- I’m under strict instructions to come home empty handed!
