Books I’ve read this month | June/July 2018

So, after my May book club instalment, I forgot to do June’s (and to be honest I only read one!), so I thought I’d do a double this month.

If you’ve read my ‘36 things to do before I’m 36‘ list, you’ll know my aim is to read at least 12 books this year – these past couple of months I’m well on track as I’ve already managed three.
Over the past few weeks I’ve become a bookworm, I finally finished ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine‘ which took me a while to get into but after a few chapters in, I was absolutely hooked. Like stay up later than planned to get more pages finished good!
Next up I read ‘Friend Request‘ by Laura Marshall, I didn’t have any preconceptions of this one, it came up in the Amazon ‘what others have chosen’ list and I thought I’d sling it in to my order. It was much better than expected and again, I was pleasantly surprised. It had me hooked guessing ‘whodunnit’ and whether Maria Weston was really dead or if she was in fact alive – the ending has a good twist!
My summer holiday read was by fellow blogger, Part Time Working Mummy, who recently released ‘A Patchwork Life’ – it’s an easy read and interesting to find out more of her back story, however I was slightly disappointed as there’s quite a lot of repetitiveness from Facebook posts and previously shared blogs which take up a lot of the book. A good holiday read!
…and going into August I’ve just started Hide and Seek by MJ Arlidge, I found this in the holiday villa left behind by a previous guest and so far it’s a good one. I’ll report back in my August reads list!

What books have you been reading? Any recommendations?
